Heat Pump

An electric system that moves heat instead of generating it — providing both heating and cooling from one unit.

A heat pump is essentially a reversible air conditioner: it can pull heat out of the outdoor air even on cold days and move it inside, and reverse the cycle to cool you in the summer. Modern cold-climate units work down into the single digits.
